Overall Conclusion
The Department of Transportation (Department) is conducting a major reorganization of its Medical Transportation Program. Part of that reorganization includes making significant changes to the service delivery structure for contracting transportation services. The Department began implementing the reorganization in April 2006 and completed that task on June 30, 2006. For this reason, we suspended our planned audit of the Medical Transportation Program on June 19, 2006, and will propose an audit of the program in the State Auditor's Office Fiscal Year 2007 Audit Plan. This report provides status information on important changes the Department is making to the Medical Transportation Program.
