Overall Conclusion
The State Auditor's Office reviewed
the proposed changes to the Permanent School Fund's ethics rules that the State
Board of Education (Board) approved at its September 12, 2003, meeting. The
Board will vote on whether to adopt the proposed changes at its meeting that
takes place November 7, 2003. Texas Education Code, Section 43.0031(c), requires
the Board to provide us with a copy of any proposed revisions for our comment.
Section 43.0031(c) further requires the Board to consider our comments, which
we provided to the Board on October 24, 2003.
